ICAI Allows Opt-Out Option For July 2021 CA Exams

Finally, ICAI has released the most awaited notification related to July 2021 Exams.

As per the latest announcement issued by ICAI, the institute has decided to provide an OPT-OUT option to genuine Covid-19 affected students.

According to this option, the students (who have already submitted the online examination application for May 2021 Examination cycle) shall be allowed to OPT-OUT and carry forward their candidature to the next examination i.e. November 2021 examination cycle.

The opt-out option will be provided to only those students who themselves or their grandparents, parents, spouse, children & siblings (residing in the same premises) are infected with Covid – 19.

Following guidelines need to be adhere by such candidates:

• The candidates can avail the opt-out option by login into the examination portal and submitting Covid-19 positive RTPCR Report, Aadhar Card and self-declaration form.
• The candidates have to submit the Covid-19 positive RTPCR report issued by the Government recognized laboratory. (All such reports shall be verified by the ICAI from the said laboratory and in case of any false/fabricated report ICAI will take strict actions).
• Candidates may note that the Covid-19 positive RTPCR report shall be of a date which is on and after the date of issue of this announcement to any date up to the conclusion of the examination of the course for which the examinee has applied to appear.
  
• Candidates who opt-out from May/ July 2021 exams will be allowed to write their exams in November 2021 Examination Cycle. The last attempt of the Old Course for Final and Intermediate (IPC) examinations shall be extended to November 2021 exams only for those students who are allowed to opt-out from May/ July 2021 examinations.
  
• If a candidate has opted out in any paper during the entire cycle of the examination then he/she will not be permitted to appear in any of the remaining paper.
  
• If a candidate has appeared for the first group and then opts out before the conclusion of the examination of the last paper of the second group, the result of the first group will be declared and opt-out option will apply only to the second group.
