ICAI 2020 Campus Placement Report: 37% Rise In Demand For CAs

The profession of Chartered Accountancy has reported an increase of 37% in demand for newly qualified CAs in this years campus placement.

As per the ICAI reports companies made a total of 2,923 job offers during campus placement to newly qualified CAs this year compared to 2,135 in the previous year. The average annual salary of Rs 8.91 lakh was offered this year as compared to Rs 7.4 lakh last year.

Maximum salary offered this year was Rs.23.28 lakhs per annum for domestic posting.

ICAI conducted the first-ever virtual campus placement this year. Generally, ICAI campus placement sessions held twice a year in February-March and August- September. But only one campus placement session was organised this year due to coronavirus pandemic.

As per the institute, a total of 133 companies participated in the campus placement session this year and there is 37% rise in demand for newly qualified Chartered Accountants.

The major recruiters at the current year’s campus placement are from sectors like financial services, banking, IT, BPO and CA firms.
