Dear ICAI Help CA Students In Articleship Issues

Came across 5 DMs in the last week, all strangers turned connections, with one difficult query-
"My Principal wants me to resume office with immediate effect even as the Corona numbers soar each day, I am confused and scared, can you please suggest?"

Two had shifted base to their hometown during the lockdown, would have to travel again, stay in hostels (which will not provide food-safety reasons) to join the office.

Three are July 2020 (now Nov) examinees, looking to productively utilise the extension.

One lived with grandparents and was more worried for their health.

You know what else was common?

• All of them were willing to WORK, give their best vide WFH, but their Principals wanted them in office, at client places without any amenities-own travel,own food,own everything!
• They are scared to bargain or protest, because "Sir sign nhi denge"
• One of them was threatened-"Tu abhi nhi aaya to,be ready for lamba extension,I'll make ensure you sit late everyday then"

The list is endless..

What could I suggest?

Chatted with them in the most comforting manner that I really could and told them to concentrate on their attempt, bcoz that is "the present in hand" and their pathway to a "great future"!
