A Representation By Students To ICAI.
Dear ICAI,
Due to the ongoing pandemic in all over the world, ICAI has cancelled the examination of May’2020 and merged with the Nov’2020 considering the student safety and lockdown in various states with the impression that situation will improve in the near future period and with hope of availability of vaccination for Covid -19.
Considering the situation from 3rd July,2020 i.e. when the ICAI issued the notification for merging the exam till today i.e. 18’july’2020 there is double time spike in the coronavirus cases. It is expected that in the near future the situation will be more draconian, there is a high possibility that there may be 3 to 4 times folds of increases in the Covid-19 affected patients. As per the analysis, it is highly possible that India is the most affected nation with novel coronavirus worldwide in the upcoming months.
Furthermore, the ICMR has clearly clarified that the vaccination which is under process by two of the pharmaceutical companies has entered into phase 1 trial in the month of July, they won’t be able to certify the vaccination before the end of this year 2020.
Considering all these circumstances, the examination of Nov’2020 are seems to be in danger as per the Govt Department analysis condition of the country would be more radical compared to the May, June and July. Students who are preparing for this examination are mostly affected, as they are preparing for May’2020 examination from the month of Jan’2020 or Dec’2019 and some of them taken the leaves in Jan’2020 for the preparation.
We would like to throw the light upon this fact, the final CA examinations students who are just one step far from achieving their degree are suffering from great mental pressure. As these students are those who already have given there 4-5 years to this course and wholly dependent on this degree. This population consist of the age of students of 23-26 years, a substantial age to earn the livelihood and support the family. Many students’ families are greatly affected financially because of this pandemic, these students are in need to support their families.
To avoid further deferment of examination, ICAI should consider the option of online examinations in November. Many of the education institutional bodies across the country started acting towards it and conducting the examination under Home based computer technique or Remotely proctored computer-based exam wherein students can give the exams from there homes only. In this technology driven environment, when half of the economy is running from the home, then why the growth and opportunities of students are lacking behind on the part of ICAI.
Below is the list of the Institutions conducting there exams online and the way they are adopting-

ICAI is accountable and responsible for their students’ career as well safety. We all cannot afford to lose another 6 months i.e. in total 1.5 years.
It is a request from ICAI please listen to our voice, understand our mental trauma and take decision as soon as possible in the interest of their students.
